Getting Started: Wonderland from the User Perspective

2.1 Equipment

Wonderland is a Graphics intensive program, so in order to run it you'll need to meet some minimal system requirements. We recommend the following:

• A graphics oriented PC configuration with

  • At least 1 Gigabyte RAM
  • An accelerated video graphics card with at least 128MB RAM (256 MB for optimal performance)

• Java SE version 5 or better (Version 6 is required for this workshop, so if you haven't upgraded yet, maybe now's the time!).

• A headset with microphone. There are many headsets available today at relatively moderate cost specifically designed for on-line gaming that work perfectly for Immersive Education.

• Wonderland is a multi-platform application and currently runs on:

  • Solaris*
  • Windows XP
  • Mac OSX
  • Various flavors of Linux

  *NOTE: Solaris x86 with the following patch installed: 125720-12.
